"The band has become West Coast favorites over the past few years, melding indie pop, post-punk, and riot grrrl impulses into the kind of record that could only come out of the Bay Area. Over lockdown days the band wrote “Scenic Route,” a lilting, lens-scratched pop vision that conjures up memories of micro label layouts from the likes of Four Letter Words, finding purchase somewhere between Honeybunch and Wimp Factor 14. With a plastic wrap pulse beneath them, the band jangle their way through a tale of stunted emotional growth. The single boasts an accompanying video from the band’s Elyse Schrock that embodies the low-key charms of the song, pairing stop motion, traditional animation, and quaint costuming to bring the lovelorn single to life. The new song will be issued as a 5×7 flexi postcard expected this August via the band’s Rob I. Miller’s own Vacant Stare Records."
